Classes Start TONIGHT!
Join us in our NEW Fancy Class Kitchen! As our classes are videotaped, available on-line and will be made available live in the future, we thought we would add some color and class. New paint, new cabinets, new lighting! Now, I DON’T decorate (we just get by), so we could use some finishing touches! Feel free to offer suggestions and help on that one!
Class tonight: Preserving the Garden: FRESH. Fruit roll ups, refrigerator pickles, canning applesauce, canning and freezing tomatoes, beans, pears and making fresh grape juice! You will enjoy the samples and learning how easy it is to put up your garden….and your neighbors’ garden too!
NOTE: Our classes are for everyone. If you are unable to attend due to finances, please let us know. You can help clean up afterward, prepare, or in other ways “pay” for the class. We do NOT want you to stay home because of money matters. That is not how we operate here at Nature’s Garden, as we will not turn people away because they can not afford to come. How awful that would be!

Non GMO Crusade
After the new information released these past few weeks with MORE studies and information on Bio Technology, we have decided to remove ALL products that have any GMO ingredients. Thus, we may very well be one of the first stores in WI, or America, with NO GMO’s. I have never been in a health food store or store anywhere that has made this claim, because it is hard to do! You will find a few products in the clearance section that hid their GMO’s quite well. We have been very careful to not have them, but they are in our store. At the same time we are looking for products to replace them. We can always make even more of our own organic products, but we lost our kitchen manager thanks to Roger! He set her up with a man who shops at our store and wala! They ran away together! So happy and sad are we at the same time……
Please suggest items you would like us to sell, or make. If you have time and want to spend a few hours doing some research on products for us, come on in. We want to offer you great healthy products, so please contribute ideas!
Co-Op
We have been tossing around the idea of making our health food store a large co-op. These types of stores are scattered around the US, and we are looking at becoming one of them. However, we have no idea if that would take here in Wisconsin. We want your feedback. We will have a meeting to discuss this possibility on Tuesday September 14th at 7:00 PM. Please RSVP so we know who is attending. All are welcome! A few features of a Co-op: Lower pricing on products, more local products, more bulk offers and orders, each adult in a family works 4-6 hours a month, and small if any yearly dues. We could offer bulk on produce as well, organic and non-organic, as well as get local farmers involved. Thoughts?
A Story that will make you SMILE!
We took the children to Wind Lake to see where I grew up last week. We visited the old home, the lake, the bike trails, and Heg Park. We then went to see the church I attended when growing up, St. Clares. They had built a new church, and where my old church was stood a MOUNTAIN SIZE pile of gravel. Lilly, our six year old, gently took my hand upon entering the new church and said in a quiet voice, “Mommy, I am sorry they ground up your church….”
If Your Home Was on Fire, Would You Call a Carpenter or a Fireman?
(I found this analogy and wanted to share it!)
If you want the fire out, you would call the firemen. They would come and soak your home with water, perhaps kick in a door or two and smash a few windows. Within time, the fire would be out. EXPO UPDATE
We met our designer and had a big meeting at the WI Expo Center at State Fair Park yesterday. We will be able to serve 1,500 children and adults at the Tasting Safari. We will be sending flyers home to thousands of Milwaukee and surrounding county area school children in a few weeks, so reserve your spot soon!
We will have an area at the expo amongst the hundreds of exhibitors for key note speakers as well as dance/yoga/martial arts demonstrations. Our four seminar rooms are quite classy and we are VERY excited for you to see who we have speaking thus far!

Tasting Safari!
We are pulling together our team of Safari Guides for our Raw Food Tasting Safari in October at the WI Expo Center State Fair Park. We are hoping to serve 1,500 - 2,000 children (and adults) over the two days! Each will receive their Passport to Health, where they will record what living foods they enjoyed best.
I know many of you have shown interest in helping us. We need 70 people to help us that day between the Tasting Safari and helping at our raw food booths i.e. Blend tec, distillers, dehydrators, Spiralizers, oils, etc.
Before I open this up to area volunteers, I wanted to see if any of you wanted to help! You can volunteer or work for pay, just let us know. Vibrant Life Vibrant Child is a nonprofit, and we want to help others find great health through foods! You raw foodies are amazing, and know by living the raw food way how healthy and vibrant you can feel eating living foods as the primary intake of calories.
The show runs Friday October 22 3 pm - 8 pm and Saturday October 23 9 am - 4 pm.

A customer took her daughter to our local hospital this month. Upon entering the examining room, a doctor noted it was chilly and offered a blanket. The second doctor that came in asked if she wanted a blanket, for it seemed a bit chilly. The THIRD doctor came in and commented on the air being a bit chilly, and offered another blanket.
Finally, a nurse came in and offered to turn up the heat!

Class Schedule, Lillyism on Heaven, HONEYDEWS!

Living FOODS!
With all the gardens starting to peak we thought we would plug LIVING FOODS! Anyone who walks into our store cannot leave without knowing our passion for raw living foods. We hope all people can incorporate raw living foods as 75% of their diet. We really don’t care what you do with the other 25% of your diet (although your body may…) but the vitality and energy that starts to rebuild in a system that is full of life is INCREDIBLE! Sewing Apprentice

This was inspiring to Julia so she took out the old Girl Scout uniforms that had patches not sewn on yet and began to sew them on. Sewing and ironing all over our home today! Family life….it’s great!

Living With Energy!
Last night I was working in the store until 12:15 AM (I suppose that makes it this morning….) re-arranging and making the entry a bit more “charming”. I went home and enjoyed a delicious pizza (our gluten free Ziemer Tradition that we make) with my daughter Jenna and hung out with Roger II and his adorable GF (teen lingo for girl friend) until 1 am. As my husband and 4 younger girls were off camping for the night, I read until 1:30 AM and decided to sleep. Finally, a night of uninterrupted sleep. BUT I was awake by 5:30! I was just too DARN excited about another great day and….I HAD TOO MUCH ENERGY! What better day to teach the energy class than today! (if I am still awake..)

Convenience
My daughter asked me for ideas to talk about at an upcoming church camp. My immediate response was Convenience. If it isn’t easy it isn’t often done. Every aspect of human life is now affected by one word……convenience: food, jobs, transportation, relationships and even service. Of course, being a church camp, she will focus on service to others needing to become a priority….instead of a convenience. HOWEVER you did not sign up for newsletters preaching service, although I sure do support that, so let me just touch on another thought. SHOPPING! I know we are out of town for anyone not living in downtown Nenno (whopping total of 28, us being 10…..) but this is where we own a building…so this is where our store is! I know we are out of the way, but we are worth the trip! We work LONG hours and research so MANY hundreds of products to make sure what we sell is great!

Every aspect of human life is now affected by one word……convenience: food, jobs, transportation, relationships and even service. Of course, being a church camp, she will focus on service to others needing to become a priority….instead of a convenience. HOWEVER you did not sign up for newsletters preaching service, although I sure do support that, so let me just touch on another thought. SHOPPING! I know we are out of town for anyone not living in downtown Nenno (whopping total of 28, us being 10…..) but this is where we own a building…so this is where our store is! I know we are out of the way, but we are worth the trip! We work LONG hours and research so MANY hundreds of products to make sure what we sell is great!

“Curry Everything in the Refrigerator”
I said to Rose when she woke up today “Look at our refrigerator! I cleaned the whole thing!” to which she quickly replied “does that mean we have Curry-Everything in the Refrigerator for dinner? “ I asked her what she meant and she reminded me that two weeks ago when I cleaned the fridge, I put EVERTHING into a pot, steamed it and added spices and curry! That made it Curry Everything in the Refrigerator! Out of the mouths of babes……..

Our Vibrant Life tasting safari is in TWO days! We are SOO excited! We are busy planning and making the Passports to health…..quite a bit of things to consider. We look forward to having you! Please register through our website. Children will be $3.00 adults $5.00.
You will enter through the church for the safaris’, see you THEN! (and yes, the store will remain open after the safaris ….)
GRANT Writing!
We are still looking for members of our Grant Writing committee! We are VERY excited to apply for grants and use the funds to being these tasting safaris throughout WI! We also want to get posters made and up at local schools….and perhaps those microwave commercials can find some air time? Well…...that may be stretching things a bit…..
