The Broadway BMT, Gateway Grilled Cheese and Fresh Almond Milk are in the cooler along with the Black Bean Hummus, Garbanzo Bean Hummus, Vegetable Spread and Fiesta Lime Spread! heck, the Pizza's and Lasagna are right across the isle in the freezer too!

SOUP STEWS and STEWPS CLASS! TOMORROW night 6:30 PM. Come enjoy all of our soups secrets~! (well, almost all of them...) We will make raw soups too! I better get the blenders ready!!!!

Farmers Market HERE! Fresh from Local Farmers - Red and Golden Beets, Kohlrabi, Pears, Flat Leaf Parsley, Chuck's Famous Spicy Lettuce Mix, Yellow Grape Tomatoes, Leeks, Chard, Kale, & Eggplants

EXPO EXTRA IDEAS: Hours of the EXPO 10:00 - 5:00? To short too long? A blood drive with those donating able to receives a free 5 minute message, food from the cafe, and whatever else other booths wish to donate! The Smoke House ( part of the emergency preparedness part), a Drug Drop (a nice large 55 gallon drum with a big poison symbol or something exciting on it....don't worry I will behave....and even bite my tongue.....) (goodness knows we can't dispose of those old toxic prescriptions down the drain....enough go into the water system and back in your drinking water as it is though the sewer system!!) A Child Care Area for children complete with recycling games and muffin walks. This will be a fundraiser for a local group of young women and they were thinking of $2.50 /hr per child. We are discouraging children from coming to any of the seminars, so those spaces can be reserved for adults. Organizing a Volunteer Equipment and Skills Survey. We did this in another large organization we were active with for years. We had a survey that hundreds of volunteers filled out that gave information on one's skills. Then, in case of an emergency, those people were contacted if willing to help others in need. IE: A tornado comes though town and takes down many trees. We then pull the VESS (Volunteer Equipment and Skills Survey) and find those who have chain saws or skills with chain saws. This is COMPLETELY voluntary and is kept in a completely secure site. Because this is not currently done offered publicly the SE WI area, Roger and I would upload and keep the information and only use it in time of a local emergency. We have thought about becoming ham radio operators (over the next many months....a few other things to do first) and feel it important to pull together in times of a crisis. A Raw Food / Vegetarian Get Together after we close! There are so many of you singles out there, and couples who want a night out so we had thought about having a dinner and dance! yes, a bit more work, but we have some great DJ's in the area, and people willing to help! Ahhh, dinner and dancing......with strangers....and friends

LOT's to do!

To your great health,

Karen

One child moves out and there is the much anticipated rearranging of bedrooms! So we are moving six people and all their things! St. Vincent LOVES us when we do this. I am a "if you don't use it in a month or so, get rid of it" woman, so we sure enjoy not having clutter! So...the painting begins this weekend.......smile Emily, you aren't here to work any longer! (college bound daughter, receives these emails to see all she is missing.... or not missing...)

ZuZu's Entrees will be available in the store within days! ZuZu's will be joining hundreds of other cafes and restaurants in reducing their hours to private nights and catering. Don't worry, we will have great private nights with theme food (as well as our regular menu) and music too! We will have that list of dates for you shortly. We have so much in front of us, that we need more time to press Livin' Cuisine forward. The cafe holds it own, but is not making much profit for our family. We realize we are not on the beaten track and we don't serve alcohol (yet) but we sure have not had complains about our food! So, we will mainstream our entrees in the store for you to take home! YUM! As soon as Livin Cuisine soars ( wait till you see what is happening) we will be able to open the cafe in a larger city! Can't wait!!! Hopefully by spring......

Leah spent the day at Doughworks making our Seeded Herb bread with them (57 loaves at a time.......isn't that fun!) and they will be baking our breads starting in two weeks. Look forward to the new packaging and.....sliced bread!

MEETING tonight regarding the Holistic fair! If you can come we will meet at 7:00PM. If you can not attend, but would like to be part of the "committee" please respond. I would like to have many of you as an email group I can send thoughts to for response. I do not want to make all of the decisions with just our family! We have run many shows, but not to this level. We have been contacting some pretty impressive people to come speak, so get EXCITED!

Lot's of new products again, but gotta run. Come shop and see! By the way, you bought out almost the entire endcap (dozens) of jars of olive oil in only a few days! I will see if I can re-order it for the same great price! THANKS! Glad to pass it on!

YOUR INPUT: We will be making many new items, please pass along your input. We want to know how our products are received. Suggestions are ALWAYS welcome here! (dropped that pride thing after having all these kids, .. have realized I am nothing really, they all seem a bit brighter than me...that's where I get all these ideas!)

To your great health!

Our daughter Emily is all settled at BYU college. She wrote and said she was introducing others to raw foods, raw breads (sorry, I sent it all with her...you are all going to get some soon....PROMISE!) and raw green smoothies! Her roommates and neighbors are in for a real treat! And of course, she is now known as the best popcorn maker in the entire WORLD! Yup....white popcorn, coconut oil and nutritional yeast in butter with Realsalt! YUM! They will all be lining up......

While I was gone....LOT"S of the products we ordered came in!!!! Are you ready for this? Our LAUNDRY Magnets are finally in! I have been working with these people for MONTHS and they are now here! Purchase your magnets for $49.95 and NEVER buy laundry soap again! Our family has been using them for years, and they are GREAT~! You read that right..no soaps. NONE needed! And, it only gets better....they now make a Dryer System that not only keep your cloths soft, but also cut your dryer time by 25%! These little balls have protrusions that stick out that keep the clothes separated while drying so your load dries quicker! al without any chemicals or dryer sheets! And, we ordered NanoTowels! The permanent paper towel! This new proprietary fiber blend cleans your home without toxic chemicals, and they are absorbable, reusable washable and incredible!!!

Our LARGE order of Colavita 100% organic Extra Virgin First Cold Pressed Olive Oil is in! Come in and grab them up while they are on sale! We have a fancy end cap at the check out!

and last but never least.....

TWIST European cleaning products! 100% biodegradable towels, sponge cloths, sponges and loofah sponges~! GREAT GREAT products! You will find these great items by our new magnets, dryer system and towels in the laundry and cleaning isle!

It was a great pleasure to visit other "health food" stores and roam the isles. It is extremely assuring to know that we have hand selected the items we sell, and we stand firm behind them. With only some of the gluten free items as exceptions, all of the 2000+ items we sell are organic, or made from high quality non GMO ingredients, and NO MSG's of any sort. There are many name brand "health" items we could sell, but after doing research on their products, we will not carry them. Too many companies are hiding their inferior products behind words like organic, wildcrafted and natural, when in reality they are not worth the money they paid for the box. Yes, there is truth in the phrase "it is healthier to eat the box!" So no matter where you shop, please read your labels and do your research! (yes, a mother is speaking here....sorry...)

As a mother speaking......If you are looking for a GREAT family picture for Christmas cards, visit our daughters website! She has just uploaded senior pictures to her blog and they are GREAT! Jenna has been shooting models and weddings from coast to coast this summer. She keeps in touch with MANY area and world photographers and attends seminars and workshops all over. She is heading off to another one in NY next month, and Las Vegas has her keen interest....but I can't remember if she is going. I know she is going to one in Chicago....just can't remember when! What kind of mother am I? Visit www.jennajulianne.com and visit her blog for the best senior pictures I personally have ever seen. Some classic family pictures as well! And, you can use our garden for your pictures if you like! I know she was shooting around some family promotion deal, but I let her run her own business and keep my nose out of it. Unless she asks for my opinion that is.....as all good women offer opinions if asked! (cue the laughter men...)

TUESDAYS CLASS: Come this Tuesday September 15th to learn from the best how to gather, save and use those seeds! Leah Klien and her sister are both NUTS about gardening, and we are excited to have them come! 6:30 PM Cost: $7.00. See you then!

APRIL 24th 2010 Holistic Health and Emergency Preparedness Fair! We will include an update or reminder about this event in all forthcoming emails. We would like to invite any of you interested to our first public meeting this Thursday, Septmeber 17th at 7PM. We have terrific ideas, and want to present them and see what you have as well. We will be looking for people to help with this event.... as it is HUGE. We will hold the meeting at ZuZu's cafe. If interested, we could make it a pot luck and kill a couple birds with one stone (don't tell PETA I said that) Let me know!

NOTE the calendar April 24th, 2010! This will be an fair you do not want to miss! We are looking for people you would want us to have speak. This can be holistic doctors in any holistic movement, authors, athletes, etc. We will have some money to fly a keynote speaker in. I have a great idea on who to fly in for speaking on Emergency Preparedness. Kenneth is getting a call this week!!!! He is a forefront leader in the USA and absolutely gifted in preparedness knowledge. Let me know other suggestions please! I can't WAIT to email you a list of booths so far.........AHHHHHH

Livin Cuisine: New labels with bar codes, nutritional info and pictures are coming soon! We are sure having fun!!!

wait....there's more.....

From Dr. Christopher: Herbal Calcium (historically used to rebuild bone mass, and as a calcium supplement. Historically proven, calcium is drawn out of the bones when eating a high acid diet, therefore leading to lower calcium levels!) Blood Circulation (historically used to help with high blood pressure. Eating high acid food makes the body need to pump harder than when eating a more alkaline diet. The more toxic and acid the diet, the higher blood pressure one may have. The body needs to work harder, thus creating higher blood pressure to circulate the blood. (makes sense doesn't it? Sometimes these things are simply easy to understand, if we take a step back.) NOTE: do not go off of high blood pressure medication without doctors supervision.)

and....

We are making our OWN granolas! Come try ZuZu's New Granolas! Original Oats and Nuts, French Almond Vanilla, Apple Cinnamon, and Chocolate Chip! BIG NEWS: Natures Garden Health Center has just secured the Washington County Fair Park Pavilion to host the first ever........

Holistic Health and Emergency Preparedness Fair!

Yes, you got it, as MANY local holistic Health Practitioners as we can hold will be in ONE place at ONE time teaching you all about the numerous methods of how a body can heal! Raw foodists from all over will do demonstrations, natural chefs will be cooking for us, ZuZu's Organic Cafe will of course offer food the entire day, Natures Garden, Livin Cuisine (with all the new products we are keeping secret) will both have booths (as well as other approved vendors (no synthetic stuff allowed I am afraid) ) and we need YOU to spread the word! We have not finalized booth cost, or admittance fees, but I am telling you it will be a terrific day! We will have seven conference rooms each hosting numerous doctors and presentations on health the entire day. ALL OF THIS will be available to each attendee! An entire day of seminars and displays? Pinch me!

OUCH!

PLUS....booths on green energy, creating your own solar oven, making an outdoor water heater, water purification, alternate heating sources and a ton more! (Our family was extremely active in helping to host two Emergency Preparedness fairs in the past few years. One in West Bend and one in Neenah, WI. We had hundreds participate and these are GREAT fairs to attend!)

More to come, but alert your favorite health Practitioners that this exciting event is April 24th 2010! They can contact me directly (for now) for information on obtaining booth space and if they would like to host a seminar!.
