THE SYMPHONY!, SIZZLING STORE NEWS!, SMOOTHIE RECIPES, WELLNESS WINNER!, CLASSES! & HERBS/OIL OF THE WEEK!!
The Symphony!
Last night after supper, I headed out to the vegetable garden.
Roger had just tiled, and everything looked perfect.
Walking around the garden monitoring the size of the different tomatoes
on all the different plants was quite enjoyable. A cherry tomato was
calling my name so I popped him in my mouth and savored the perfect flavor!
As I was walking towards the home the rain started. I stood there
enjoying the fresh and much needed drops of refreshment. Then,
I joined the garden and lay down on the ground, arms out to the side
to enjoy the refreshing rain! Now, I have played outside in the rain
often, and neighbors find our children dancing in the rain many times
a summer, but to lie on the ground next to the garden was wonderful.
The rhythm and sounds of the rain droplets was magnificent!
Some were hitting the large leaves, some the grass next to me,
some the rain gutters, and all of them were different!
Another voice of a symphony!
You often hear me encourage others to get outside and “ground” with the earth.
For those of you still not believing that we are electrical beings,
loaded with frequencies, please research! The ground is a natural
healer and it is free!
I will always remember last night because it was one of the most
relaxing times in my life. Sorry to the massage therapists I have used,
but being that “one” with nature blew all of the relaxing techniques
used out of the water! I encourage you all to just try it.
That is not to say that you will find our whole family under the showers
each time it rains….but I sure bet you will discover for yourself a
new way of “cooling off!”

Last night after supper, I headed out to the vegetable garden.
Roger had just tiled, and everything looked perfect.
Walking around the garden monitoring the size of the different tomatoes
on all the different plants was quite enjoyable. A cherry tomato was
calling my name so I popped him in my mouth and savored the perfect flavor!
As I was walking towards the home the rain started. I stood there
enjoying the fresh and much needed drops of refreshment. Then,
I joined the garden and lay down on the ground, arms out to the side
to enjoy the refreshing rain! Now, I have played outside in the rain
often, and neighbors find our children dancing in the rain many times
a summer, but to lie on the ground next to the garden was wonderful.
The rhythm and sounds of the rain droplets was magnificent!
Some were hitting the large leaves, some the grass next to me,
some the rain gutters, and all of them were different!
Another voice of a symphony!
You often hear me encourage others to get outside and “ground” with the earth.
For those of you still not believing that we are electrical beings,
loaded with frequencies, please research! The ground is a natural
healer and it is free!
I will always remember last night because it was one of the most
relaxing times in my life. Sorry to the massage therapists I have used,
but being that “one” with nature blew all of the relaxing techniques
used out of the water! I encourage you all to just try it.
That is not to say that you will find our whole family under the showers
each time it rains….but I sure bet you will discover for yourself a
new way of “cooling off!”

Gentian is one of the most valuable bitter tonics and best strengtheners
of the human system in herbal medicine. It has the characteristic of
storing vast quantities of condensed oxygen in the roots (the source
of its bitterness and exhilarating tonic action), and therefore it is
rightfully one of the most popular revitalizing tonic and stomachic
agents for physical exhaustion from chronic ailments, general debility,
female weakness, digestive weakness, and lack of appetite. It is
intensely bitter, yet it is generally easily received by the stomach,
wherein it tones the liver without inencing the secretion of bile.
It is powerful, effective and reliable as a therapeutic tonic agent.
As an antiperiodic, its action is similar to Peruvian bark (Cinchona calisaya).

Geranium is one of my favorite oils because it works profoundly on the
emotions and is useful in many medical conditions—it smells wonderful
while it works so hard.
The oil is extracted not from the familiar brightly colored geranium
but from the species Pelargonium—Geranium Robert or “lemon plant”
—which is very often displayed in abundance in Greek restaurants.
Geranium will make chilblains disappear overnight and brings a
radiant glow when used in skin care!
More importantly, it is a vital component in the treatment of
endometriosis, is very effective for menopausal problems, diabetes,
blood disorders, throat infections, and as a nerve tonic, and works
well as a sedative. It is reputed to help in cases of uterine and

ESSENTIAL OIL OF THE WEEK: GERANIUM!
Geranium is one of my favorite oils because it works profoundly on the
emotions and is useful in many medical conditions—it smells wonderful
while it works so hard.
The oil is extracted not from the familiar brightly colored geranium
but from the species Pelargonium—Geranium Robert or “lemon plant”
—which is very often displayed in abundance in Greek restaurants.
Geranium will make chilblains disappear overnight and brings a
radiant glow when used in skin care!
More importantly, it is a vital component in the treatment of
endometriosis, is very effective for menopausal problems, diabetes,
blood disorders, throat infections, and as a nerve tonic, and works
well as a sedative. It is reputed to help in cases of uterine and
breast cancer and if nothing else, would certainly help the patient
to relax and cope with pain.
Geranium has many applications, from frostbite to infertility,
and its antiseptic and astringent properties contribute to its
general usefulness. Its delightful floral fragrance makes it a
pleasure to use, either on its own or as a contributory oil in blends.

Tonight’s class is INCREDIBLE! I just spent time with John,
the owner and founder of Talya water and all I can say is WOW!

I need to include a silly story or saying. Here is my experience
last night! In case you ever wondered what I dream about……
A FUNNY FUNNY thing happened last night at 1:38 am.
We woke up to the phone ringing and I glanced at the clock.
It was 1:38 am. After Roger answered he realized it was a wrong number,
I laid my head back on my pillow and exclaimed "Just at the best part!"
My husband looked at me and I told him........"I had just signed a
three month agreement with Firestone Tires (A company that sells tires)
for only $7.00 a month my tires were going to glow at night.
They were just going to hand me my free pair of socks for signing
up and the phone rang! Now I can't have my socks or see my tires glow!"
Roger just patted my head, and shook his. What a dream.

AMY is back! Amy (16 years old on an exchange) returned from
South Africa in one piece….minus the pieces of her heart she left there.
Her experiences were WILD and she can’t wait to share them with you.
We will be planning a Friday or Saturday at the end of the month,
so get ready for an evening of food, pictures and stories!
We will be having an addition to our family! NO I am not with child,
but rather we are hosting an exchange student from Norway!
Marthe comes to live with us August 22nd and can’t wait!
We write many times a month, and she can’t wait o live with us and
her parents are so excited for her to learn to un-cook! I don’t
know who is more excited to eat our food…Marthe or her parents!
We will have a Norway presentation in early spring.
Jenna and Eric are both off serving missions. Jenna is in Las Vegas
until June of 2012 and has loved the last six months there.
Wow, I am learning so much about Vegas from her letters!
Eric will be gone until June 2013 serving in Florida, Spanish speaking.

HERB OF THE WEEK: Hydrangea Root!
A scientific study published in Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry in 2003 noted that hydrangea root extracts have greater antioxidant power in liver tissue than milk thistle and turmeric combined. The findings of Japanese researchers amplify observations of nineteenth-century American physicians who used hydrangea primarily as a treatment for "kidney gravel," small stones in the kidneys that could be passed with a minimum of pain after treatment with the herb. Physicians of the time also used hydrangea as a treatment for chronic chest pain caused by bronchitis. Hydrangea root powder has a greater diuretic effect than other preparations of the herb, but it has less of an effect on pain.
The kidneys play a key role in the body. Their functions include: getting rid of waste products, regulating the chemical composition of the body ids (blood and lymph), balancing the percentage of water in the body, and maintaining the body’s pH levels. The kidneys are involved in the angiotensin I, II, III hormone formation--the regulators of vascular tone and adrenal glands (aldosterone secretion), they activate vitamin D3, which regulates the exchange of calcium and phosphorus. Furthermore, the kidneys produce the erythropoietin hormone—the stimulator of erythropoiesis in the red bone marrow which synthesizes a proteolytic enzyme, renin. By preventing major diseases of the renal system, we support other organs and systems - cardiovascular, sexual, and endocrine.

HERB OF THE WEEK: Hydrangea Root!
A scientific study published in Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry in 2003 noted that hydrangea root extracts have greater antioxidant power in liver tissue than milk thistle and turmeric combined. The findings of Japanese researchers amplify observations of nineteenth-century American physicians who used hydrangea primarily as a treatment for "kidney gravel," small stones in the kidneys that could be passed with a minimum of pain after treatment with the herb. Physicians of the time also used hydrangea as a treatment for chronic chest pain caused by bronchitis. Hydrangea root powder has a greater diuretic effect than other preparations of the herb, but it has less of an effect on pain.
The kidneys play a key role in the body. Their functions include: getting rid of waste products, regulating the chemical composition of the body ids (blood and lymph), balancing the percentage of water in the body, and maintaining the body’s pH levels. The kidneys are involved in the angiotensin I, II, III hormone formation--the regulators of vascular tone and adrenal glands (aldosterone secretion), they activate vitamin D3, which regulates the exchange of calcium and phosphorus. Jen's Medicupping Story~ Last week my knee/upper leg area had felt
like it was sprained and I was in some pain...Medicupping to the rescue!
RELIEF, almost instantly (definately within 2 hrs.)
BUT, what I wasn't expecting from this treatment was to see a
BLUE GRAY FLUID coming out of my leg!!!~WHAT WAS THIS?!! I don't use
ANY colored lotions on my skin or eat anything that has artificial
colorings in it!! BUT, wait a minute...I did in the PAST!! YIKES!!!
Does this mean that the blue grayish color may have been stored in my
body (fat cells) this whole time, possibly causing problems in my body or
would have in the future? Hmmmm...this is kind of scary to know that
what we eat, drink and put on our skin really confirms
the statement: "YOU ARE WHAT YOU ABSORB!"
I know from sharing my experience and hearing from others that
have had Medicupping, that colored fluids coming out of the skin
