EXPO EXTRA IDEAS: Hours of the EXPO 10:00 - 5:00? To short too long? A blood drive with those donating able to receives a free 5 minute message, food from the cafe, and whatever else other booths wish to donate! The Smoke House ( part of the emergency preparedness part), a Drug Drop (a nice large 55 gallon drum with a big poison symbol or something exciting on it....don't worry I will behave....and even bite my tongue.....) (goodness knows we can't dispose of those old toxic prescriptions down the drain....enough go into the water system and back in your drinking water as it is though the sewer system!!) A Child Care Area for children complete with recycling games and muffin walks. This will be a fundraiser for a local group of young women and they were thinking of $2.50 /hr per child. We are discouraging children from coming to any of the seminars, so those spaces can be reserved for adults. Organizing a Volunteer Equipment and Skills Survey. We did this in another large organization we were active with for years. We had a survey that hundreds of volunteers filled out that gave information on one's skills. Then, in case of an emergency, those people were contacted if willing to help others in need. IE: A tornado comes though town and takes down many trees. We then pull the VESS (Volunteer Equipment and Skills Survey) and find those who have chain saws or skills with chain saws. This is COMPLETELY voluntary and is kept in a completely secure site. Because this is not currently done offered publicly the SE WI area, Roger and I would upload and keep the information and only use it in time of a local emergency. We have thought about becoming ham radio operators (over the next many months....a few other things to do first) and feel it important to pull together in times of a crisis. A Raw Food / Vegetarian Get Together after we close! There are so many of you singles out there, and couples who want a night out so we had thought about having a dinner and dance! yes, a bit more work, but we have some great DJ's in the area, and people willing to help! Ahhh, dinner and dancing......with strangers....and friends

LOT's to do!

To your great health,

Karen
