Nature’s Garden Wellness Center: Where Nature Restores Wellbeing

We open October 6th ! We are SOOOO excited! The retreat center, Haven Woods, opens in November, and we can’t wait. If you have friends who may need a month to rebuild, they now have a place to do so. Our list of services and great prices follows the end of this newsletter so you don’t skip everything else! Read on and enjoy all we have to offer. THANK you for the encouragement so many of you give us. Without it, we would not be able to bring this to you! Appointments for all of our services are required, so please call 262-629-4301.

HELP! Kitchen manager NEEDED!

Thanks to my husband Roger’s wonderful matchmaking skills, our kitchen manager took off with one of the great single men that shop here and whala! No more kitchen manager! We have tried to manage without her…but alas, we REALLY need a kitchen manager. Hours will be 20-40, pay negotiable, stress minimal, ORGANIZATION a must, cleanliness an absolute, countenance – happy, knowledge of food and raw foods a plus. Please call Nature’s Garden at 262-629-4300.

Computer Data Needed

We also need someone to input data into our food program (we have a new nutritional program for our kitchen.) This is only a temp job, perhaps 20 hours or less. However, we need this done ASAP. We need to enter data this Wednesday – Saturday ONLY. Any time will work during those days! Please call Nature’s Garden at 262-629-4300.

Thursday’s Class: Sauces, Dips and PERFECT Dressings

Thursday, September 30th at 7 PM learn to make all of your sauces, dips and dressings guilt-free! The only additives are fresh ingredients from your kitchen. We will make living dressings, dips and delicious quick sauces. We will also make a delicious spaghetti sauce that you can use for spaghetti, pizzas, lasagnas and enchiladas. No dairy, meat or gluten! This class will be held UP IN THE CHURCH as we have a rehearsal dinner going on at 7 PM in the café. Who in the world planned that one?

Lisa and John: Dirty Laundry

Saturday night I attended a wonderful women’s conference. This story was told by President Monson: Lisa and John had moved into a new city. Each Saturday the neighbor across the street would hang up her laundry and Lisa would comment on how dirty the laundry was. Each Saturday, John listened to Lisa complain. One Saturday Lisa exclaimed, “it’s clean! Our neighbor finally has clean clothes! John, how did that happen?” John simply said, “I woke up early and cleaned the window…….” - Ah, a simple story with a great moral: please don’t judge others! You may not have a beam in your eye, but you just may have dirty windows!

On that note…..

I really do not understand what our family does to dryers but……we have not had one again all spring and summer! Not that we mind, we LOVE our laundry outside on the line (and no, it’s not dirty!) but with winter here….we are looking for a dryer! I have lost count as to how many dryers we have bought, rebuilt, and resurrected, but we need another one! Anyone have one for sale?

Plastic Bag Drive

For the expo we need bags! Bring them on in so we can be green for this expo as we were the last one! Everyone got a kick out of reusing plastic bags at the Washington County Expo, so we will do it again, saving our non-profit a pretty penny as well! THANKS!

GMO FREE

Besides a few gluten free items remaining in our end cap freezer….we are now COMPLETELY GMO FREE! It is estimated that 80% + of items found in conventional stores have GMO ingredients and 30%-80% in “health” food stores. (Remember, GMO ingredients are used in many vitamins as well…) We are happy to have cleaned our own store up. HOWEVER we had to say good buy to some very yummy goodies. It was surprising to us, as many of the products said All Natural on them……ha! What marketing can do. Oh well, we are busy looking for more items to replace those we put out to the wayside…..well the front entry on sale…..and thank you to all of you who have stood by this transition! Many of you were sad to learn those products we GMO based, but said you would not eat them any longer. Yeah! Our dollars WILL speak, along with millions of other people standing up to GMO promoters.

Jenna’s Mission Call!

Our oldest daughter has been called to serve a church mission for 18 months in Nevada and CA! The Las Vegas West Mission is where Jenna will spend December 2010 to June 2012. The whole family is very excited for her, and she is thrilled! Jenna has an incredible love for people, and is anxious to serve the people there. We will miss her!

BarbieVille

I walked into the youngest girl’s room today and found all of the Barbie’s dressed up and sitting on furniture in a row. Lilly explained that they were playing Cinderella…and all the Barbie’s needed to try on the shoe! (I didn’t have the heart to explain they all had the same shoe size!)
