We are NOT promoting a scare, or a pandemic, but with the current level 5 alert, we thought it important to share with you a few tips. Those who shop at our store and know us understand that we have your best interest in mind. As our family has been keenly aware of what is being reported, and all that is not being reported, we wanted to share with you some information. Here are a few notes of interest in protecting your family:

Your immune system is the NUMBER ONE thing you have going for you. A healthy immune system will act as your best defense. Creating an alkaline environment in your body is of utmost importance. Cancer and disease can not survive in an alkaline environment. Ideally your body should be around 80% alkaline 20% acidic. More than 65% of your immune system is in your intestinal track. Keep it clean! (Note: we still have 8 children at home. In the last many years we have only had a couple instances of a child contracting a small virus. The illness lasted perhaps a day or two and was gone. This whole health immune system really works!! Living proof right here!)
Alkaline forming foods include sprouts, herbs, green and leafy vegetables, garlic, onions, sea vegetables, vine-ripened vegetables, tree-ripened fruit, small grains, sesame seeds, fresh beans and corn, cayenne pepper and some nuts.
Acid forming foods include meats, sugars, eggs and dairy, most grains, white flour and carbonated beverages. And all artificial chemical sweeteners like NutraSweet, Equal, or Aspartame, are extremely acid-forming. Produce that is acid forming are blueberries, cranberries, plums, prunes, and most nuts and seeds. (Tip: get your 20% from the produce...)

WASH your hands often. Viruses lay dormant until they are digested into your system. They can not grow in food. They can lay rest on any food item, any door handle, cart handle, you name it and after entering your body, they grow inside your intestines. THUS A HEALTHY IMMUNE SYSTEM is critical! (capitalization added for emphasis!!)

Know how and where to use masks: N95 Masks will NOT prevent you from contracting a virus. They WILL contain some of the virus if worn by an infected person.

Have some food storage. You may need to stay home for a couple weeks. Please have what your family needs. See attached if you are interested in ordering bulk food. Those who shop at Natures Garden please note that we are placing our next produce order Friday for Saturday delivery. If you desire a case of anything, let us know. We place produce orders Monday for Tuesday, Wednesday for Thursday and Friday for Saturday.

What are we doing? Our family is taking the following: Garlic and cayenne capsules, Vitamin C 1,000 dose each, St Johns Wort, and Acidophilus. We are taking some colloidal silver as well. We have Paul d” arco, Olive leaf and zinc on hand as well as two homeopathic remedies that practically stopped the 1918 flu epidemic in it’s track: Gelsemium and Bryonia.

Vitamin C: Vitamin C helps combat disease. It protects the white blood cells. Dosage: 500 and 1,000 milligrams daily, up to 10,000 milligrams daily when fighting the flu.
Olive Leaf Extract (OLE)Olive leaf is an excellent antibacterial. This herbal supplement fights bacterial and viral infections.Dosage: 500-1000 milligrams every few hours or two capsules four times a day.
Acidophilus cultureAfter using antibiotics, or even Olive Leaf Extract, take acidophilus to restore the intestinal flora, as antibiotics and OLE can upset the healthy bacteria in your intestines.Dosage: one capsule a day before meals, or two capsules taken on an empty stomach first thing in the morning
Grapefruit LeafThis is best taken in capsules as it can be bitter. Research has shown grapefruit leaves to be effective as an antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiparasitic
Vitamin AVitamin A increases immunity by promoting T-lymphocyte activity and Beta carotene, one of the components of vitamin A; it increases thymus gland function and stimulates the growth of the white blood cells that fight disease. Vitamin A increases the production of mucus, thereby aiding in cleansing. It is also an antioxidant.
GarlicGarlic is great as a preventative and as a treatment. Take two tablets three times a day until the mucus production has slowed down dramatically, or until the color of mucus becomes clear rather than yellow or green. Garlic can also help treat ear infections. Squeeze a garlic clove until the juice runs into a cotton ball and place the cotton ball in the ear. Raw garlic has antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral properties.
ZincZinc inhibits the reproduction of rhinovirus, and has been found to be especially good for treating viral sore throats. A recent study on the effectiveness of zinc showed that taking a zinc lozenge every 2-3 hours, shortened the duration of cold symptoms. Overdosing with zinc can have side effects, such as an effect on the uptake of iron.Dosage: one lozenge every 2-3 hours for duration of the cold or flu. Keep in the mouth for 5-10 minutes. Or 30 to 50 milligrams a day.AstragalusAstragalus membranaceus or milk vetch has been used in Chinese medicine for over 2,000 years to strengthen the immune and respiratory systems and to fight the flu. Astragalus belongs to a class of herbs called adaptogens, and helps the body handle stress. Astragalus also fights pathogens like bacteria and viruses.Dosage: one dropper of tincture of Astragalus (standardized to 15 percent polysaccharides) to a hot liquid like tea or soup three times a day. As tablets, take 350 to 400 milligrams three times a day

Foods to avoid
: foods that create mucous in the respiratory tract, such as dairy and bananas, as they are detrimental due to the fact that the predominant breeding ground of the virus is the respiratory tract. It is also recommended to stay away from Honey, Chocolate, Micro Algae, and Kimchi. All of these increase production of cytokines.
